There are up to twelve GPS satellites on our side of the earth at any one time. To get a good position fix, only three are needed. The information recieved from these satellites is triangulated by the tracking unit in the vehicle and interpreted as a grid reference. This grid reference is then relayed via GPRS from the vehicle to the dedicated internet server.

The customer or any authorised person can then tap into this server via the internet. The information is automatically downloaded to the mapping software on their own personal computer.

For vehicles that have a limited or no power supply, there is the option to add a solar panel to boost the tracking units' internal backup battery. This is especially useful when it comes to installing systems in caravans.
